Google Reader - Angus' shared items

Google Reader - Angus' shared items So I have been looking for a way to share the items that I read in blogs. A way to try to add value. It looks like by putting the link into my blog I can direct people to this page - which then shares things that I have created.

Many years ago I came across this funny little site that a geek in the middle of nowhere was running. The site used a combination of geek knowledge, and funny writing combined with autoresponders to provide some really high quality material that - well - got me started on this bizarre journey of freelance web design. Chris Pirillo (better known as the Lockergnome) has kept information in my inbox ever since.

With that simple sentence in a recent email, Chris levered all the goodwill he has built up with me into a blog entry which I hope for his sake generates the kind of response he wants.

Simply put - "Top Drawer Material"

Flash of insight

Reading my blogs this morning and there was a sequence that caught my attention. In the midst of setting goals and thinking about where I want my business to go in 2007 - a flash of insight.

Strategy!

It was a simple discussion. A frustrated marketer looking for better tactics to penetrate a closed market.

Not tactics - strategy was the problem. They were doing everything right but playing in the wrong arena.

One of the things that I found frustrating when I moved here was going from being a big fish in a small pond - to becoming a small fish in a big pond. In many ways I still act like a small fish. From a strategic perspective I need to think about the pond. What is my market and how do I become a big fish in it?

Join me on the journey. Simple question that may revolutionize my business.
